Dive into TRENCH Radio’s best mixes of the week below.

N-Type for 1 More Thing

This time next week, June 14, the legendary Wheel & Deal Records are celebrating their 15th anniversary with a massive rave at XOYO. It’s a stacked line-up, with names like Trends and Boylan, Benny Ill, Spooky, Silkie, Riz La Teef, Youngsta, Benton, pioneering dubstep MC Crazy D, and many more all on the line-up. Ahead of the big night, N-Type (also on the bill) put together an hour of dubstep sluggers including Skream, Joker, Chase & Status and new-school star Hamdi.

Nancy June B2B Silkie w/ Sgt. Pokes for Balamii

Also appearing at the Wheel & Deal night at XOYO is Silkie who was on Balamii with Nancy June and Sgt. Pokes this week for an on-air sparring session. An energetic set, the pair draw for the ravier end of the dubstep spectrum for an ideal pre-party warm-up set. And you can catch Nancy alongside Parris, Kid Drama, Buckley, Robert Fleck, Sam Russell, Alex Quinn at The Gun in Hackney for the Kristina Records and Well Street Records shindig tonight, June 7.

El Train’s ‘Crossing Borders’ Mix

El Train dropped off the third edition of his Crossing Borders DJ mixes this week. A full two years after the last installment, he returned to the ongoing series that finds common threads between scenes from disparate corners of the world. This new set coincides with the release his latest Crossing Borders Vol. 1, which landed today. Focusing largely on Amapiano, Baile funk and the warmer end of the club spectrum, listen out for gems from Karen Nyame KG, Loelash, Juls, and a couple of his own creations.

Big Ang for Mixmag

Genuine bassline royalty from Sheffield’s Niche dynasty, Big Ang delivered an educational power hour this week. Ang has been enjoying a bit of a renaissance lately, introduced to a new generation of fans thanks to the resurgence in bassline and speed garage. Sticking largely to new era bouncers, Ang gave us an hour of Silva Bumpa, Soul Mass Transit System, a DJ Zinc midsection, and a sparing but effective dose of her own dubs and remixes. A treat for new and old fans alike.

Sky Jetta for Elevator Music

Known for her work with names like Rico Nasty, Charli XCX, Baby Tate, and Saweetie, Sky Jetta hit the Elevator with a pick of super-charged footwork, breakbeats and club edits. Intermittendly surrounded by dancers, it was a lightning bolt of dancefloor energy from the get-go. Unsurprisingly, given her on-deck energy and unimpeachable selections, the Detroit-hailing DJ/producer was also recently picked by Zack Fox to join him as the opening act on his 2023 tour.
