TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, Mode FM selector Ob-Server eased us in with a skank-ready dubstep mix; Local Action top dog Tom Lea served up a retrospective of some of the gold his label has given us over the years; Atlanta-based DJ Ash Lauryn educated us on house and techno's roots in black American music; Heka Trax queen Nightwave turned the energy up with an ear-popping journey through her wide-ranging techno favourites; Sam Binga went all out with his hour of bass music, grime, D&B, rap and more; and, finally, the jewel in this week's crown was the mix from ShyBoi who gave us a kaleidoscopic run of club heat peppered with classic rave moments

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
