TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don’t have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week’s new DJ mixes. To help you out, we’ve done the busy work for you. We’ll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest house music, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B, Amapiano, and no doubt a bunch of stuff that doesn’t have a name yet.

First up, Czech selector Fizzy showcased his Shakhta Records outfit with an hour of the kind of jazzy, grimey and deep dubstep that’s doing bits in his neck of the woods; Joe Kay helmed the Soulection show this week, kicking off with some garage and Amapiano before moving into Afrobeats and finishing on some deep R&B scorchers; DJ P Montana kept the heatwave rolling with a focus on all things Amapiano; Moxie kicked off her show this week with an hour of deep and bassy house music before handing over to FYI Chris who gently raised the energy levels with some electro, hip-house and more; Atlanta-hailing selector Alexis Curshé made her all-vinyl debut with a one-take mix of electro, deep house, acid, and techno; Junior Simba made funk and bass the priorities in his ultra-stylish, speaker-rattling house selections; Bristol-based Australian Galtier kept it to the 4x4 house side of his always varied output with some mid-BPM house packed with deep, deep grooves; Sonar Festival took us back in time to a month ago with Conducta’s all-killer, power-hour of garage-laced house slammers; Big Dope P set the tone for the summer with a mix featuring a bunch of his recent productions alongside heart-racing jams from Mighty Mark, Armand Van Helden, DJ Sneak, and more; L Major helmed the Club Glow show this week with some punishing D&B and an equally heavy mix from Wob Wob Crew’s The Vinylizer.

This is TRENCH Radio’s best mixes of the week.
