TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, the peerless Todd Edwards reminded us who's boss with an hour of super jumpy house and garage elixirs; Star. One took a break from Tik Tok to take us right through garage history, from stone cold classics to box fresh bubblers; Conducta gave us a shot in the arm with an hour of the latest and greatest NUKG scorchers; Hypho put together a warming dubstep mix that managed to balance dark atmospherics with energetic and nimble rhythms; Coyote Records affiliates B:Thorough and VIO_L3T joined forces for a late night trip through noisy rap teeth-kickers, ominous grime textures and quite a bit of sonic sleight-of-hand; Ethiopia-born, Netherlands-based selector Benaiah showcased a blend of the deepest but also the most vibrant new Amapiano; Juls gave us a deeper look at the growing hotbed of talent bubbling up in Ghana's thriving drill scene; Russia's A.Fruit pledged her allegiance to the footwork-jungle intersection with a lively and thrilling new session; Basic Rhythm delved into the off-kilter end of his D&B, breaks and hardcore collection for his latest mix; and, finally, Rupture co-founder Mantra helped celebrate the return of fabric with a heart attack mix of D&B, breaks and jungle that borders on the overwhelming.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
