TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, ESK kept it smooth, soulful and a little bit jazzy with his impeccable hip-hop selections from across the past three decades; Sharnie spotlighted the best dubstep weaponry from DMWSOUND with a 140-focused session; Clyde Built Radio's Vixen Sound shone a light on some of the best soundsystem fuel coming out of Scotland; the Simply Deep label dons called on visual artist and selector Auracul to join them for two hours of colourful skankers from the worlds of grime, garage, house, dubstep and beyond; Charisma and Ash C went B2B with a two-hour sprint through garage and house with a few touches of grime and dubstep (somehow throwing in "Flat Beat" along the way); Escaflowne stirred up vintage B'more, sludgy acid, euphoric piano house and more with his latest outing; Australian selector Kufa warmed us up for their collab project, Kufacat, alongside Slo:Wave's Liddicat with a mix that tied their footwork roots with their current D&B flavours; Fabio & Grooverider reminded us why they're the masters with a lesson in rugged, skull-splitting jungle; TSVI struck a deft balance between dark, percussive intensity and spritely dancefloor playfulness with a mix that took in just about every shade of club and rave music; and, finally, Mix'Elle served up a sweaty power-hour of gnarled breaks, sawtooth sluggers and techy rollers.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
