TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, DJ B whipped up an hour of 2-step, 4x4 and garage bubblers old and new; Birmingham born selector On1 took us through the full UKG spectrum, from the minimal and colourful right through to the dark and moody; South African duo Kususa spotlighted Afro-house and Afro-tech at its heaviest and most energising; Subtle and Rinse regular Kurai Hikari gave us the rundown of the latest grime heaters they've been feeling; J Oh Zee reminded us why she's one of the most singular, hard-working and exciting selectors working in grime today with a session for Grime Originals; the peerless Anna Morgan sprinted through everything from D&B and house to dancehall and rap like it was nothing at all; Addison Groove went B2B with More Cowbell label boss Eich for an super-charged, white-knuckle mix of house, techno, footwork, jungle and beyond; Object Blue turned in a joyously unpredictable cocktail of myriad club sounds, splashed with spontaneity and nimble about-turns; Ehua served up a thrill-ride of jumpy, adventurous and mind-bending club fury like only she can; and, finally, Sha Sha Kimbo stepped up with a short-but-sweet, breaks-heavy half hour of ravey goodness.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
