TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, Sir Hiss proved beyond refute why he's your favourite DJ's favourite DJ with a mix of garage, funky and grime (with some ingenious refixes and bootlegs thrown in for good measure); Mode FM's Lozzy C put together a gloriously sunny half hour of R&G-heavy gems; the team behind the SYNES label showcased the full range of their genre-smudging repertoire; Coco Bryce soundtracked the approaching sun with an hour of melody-rich jungle, D&B and breaks; PlayPlay mined the ever-reliable intersection between jungle and footwork for a rugged but all-too-brief set; multi-faceted selector MJK whipped up the energy levels with a heavy duty set that included gems from Goldie, Mark Pritchard and more; Leeds don Happa whipped up a dark and heavy blend of glowering breaks and bass; Jubilee stepped up for Local Action's ongoing Mixtape Club series with an energetic and emotional love letter to the rave sounds that raised her; Jossy Mitsu showed us round some of the harder and heavier records in her bag; and, finally, Soraya of Sisu Crew kept us yearning for the dancefloor with a pulsating, sweat-soaked techno session.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
