TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, Haunted Dancehall gave us an hour of stone cold reggae classics including gems from Yellowman, Gregory Isaacs, Wayne Smith and more; Stay Cool Fam founder Seán Grannum washed our troubles away with a calming blend of R&B, hip-hop and lo-fi funk; First Ear Music resident Kulv Reyan wove together the smoothest R&B and hip-hop jams past and present; Fearless Dread, the joint venture of Arkwright and Chuckman, explored the darker, moodier end of dubstep in their latest Balamii mix; Coyote Records brought together Sheffield's Utah? and London's Flora Yin-Wong for two straight hours of mind-shattering club experiments; Ruffhouse Munich boss Top Shotta served up a drum-heavy explosion of gqom, funky, techno, dancehall and more; East Man called on Lyrical Strally NyNy, Eklipse and MicTy for a furious barring session; Florida-born New Yorker Jubilee gave us a look at the eclectic rave tunes that have kept her sane in lockdown; DJ, producer, vocalist and visual artist Edge Slayer laid waste to the rules with a hybrid fusion of pop edits, R&B, classic rave, footwork, Jersey Club, B'more and anything likely to make you sweat; and, finally, DC-based Tropic Of Bass founder Illexxandra put together a white-knuckle mix of footwork, jungle, reggaeton and a bunch of stuff that hasn't got a name yet.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
