TRENCH Radio: 10 Of The Best Mixes This Week

SoundCloud (while it still lives) can be an impenetrable, infinite stream of music, often of varying quality. You need a soundtrack to start your weekend right, but you don't have the requisite lifetime to trawl through the week's new DJ mixes. To help you out, we've done the busy work for you. We'll be running this series every single Friday of every single week to bring you the very finest in house, grime, techno, bashment, R&B, trap, D&B and no doubt a bunch of extremely trendy stuff that doesn't have a name yet.

First up, Joe Hertz served up an hour of luxurious funk, soul, jazz and electronics; The Playground boss soulosounds stirred things up with some Carnival-ready dancehall heat; the inimitable Naina put together a nostalgic mix that tied together her Indian roots with the club music she grew up on; Leeds-based Sammy Virji celebrated the release of his new album Spice Up My Life with a mix consisting solely of his own UKG productions; Mr. K gave us a rundown of the best dubstep chuggers from his record bag; Hyperdub regular KG educated us on the finer points of gqom with an immersive low-end voyage; South Africa's Mxshi Mo put his own spin on the gqom and Sghubu sounds of his home turf; Washington DC's Soso Tharpa showed us what a night out in his hometown sounds like with a wild and far-reaching selection; Nervous Horizon head honchos Wallwork and TSVI put their heads together for a speaker-rattling storm of indescribable club weaponry; and, finally, Reprezent regular MO spun together everything from DJ Swisha to MSSINGNO and Mr. Mitch.

This is TRENCH Radio's best mixes of the week.
