Rounding off what’s been a release-packed year, Smokey Bubblin’ B is back with his final drop of the year, the three-track Locked On EP for Low Steppa’s Simma Black label. Widely respected for his colourful and joyous productions, Smokey continues to be a source of sorely-needed dancefloor energy.

After dipping his toe into hardcore and jungle back in June with the Hold Tight EP, the new collection returns to the overlapping realms of garage, house and funky. Centrepiece “Baby” pulls them all together, setting a 4x4 bassline stomp against jittery house music vocals with just a hint of a UK funky swing to push it along. As for the rest of the EP, expect touches of disco, 2-step and much, much more when it drops November 9.
