EXCLUSIVE:
Oxford Producer Silas Unleashes Bone-Chilling Grime Riddim “Mirage” For Trends’ Mean Streets Records

At the end of this month, Mean Street Records will release a new compilation EP featuring originals and exclusives from label boss Trends along with D.O.K, Boylan, P Jam and Dexplicit. Ahead of that, they’re also putting out a two-track sampler featuring Trends and P Jam’s “Truth Or Die” and a new cut called “Mirage” from Silas, a veteran of the label’s monthly Rinse FM show who also has his own full EP coming via the label later in the year.

“Mirage” is a deeply ominous grime production, marked by its cavernous open spaces and shuddering low end. Capping off the bone-chilling atmosphere is an eerie vocal sample from an episode of The Twilight Zone — a blood-curdling addition to the collection.

You can grab your copy of the vinyl sampler on May 25 followed by the digital EP when that arrives on May 29. The label’s also running an exclusive offer: if you buy the vinyl at www.meanstreetsrecs.com, you will also get the whole digital EP — but only if you buy direct from their site.

Run the track!
