EXCLUSIVE: Mancunian Rap Hero OneDa Announces New Mixtape With High-Energy “Vibes”

Ex-Mouse Outfit rapper and all-round Northern legend OneDa has deep roots in Manchester and it’s plain to see how important they are to her. For the last few years she’s spent much of her time running music-based therapy sessions for young people in Manchester, working with Pupil Referral Units, Reform Radio and on the influential Herchester project for womxn, non-binary and transgender MCs in Manchester, Blackpool, Morcambe and Sheffield.

She hasn’t neglected her own music; far from it. In fact, she’s got a whole batch of new music on the way, including a new mixtape. The first taste of that comes with her new single, “Vibes”, which she co-produced with Gabe Gurnsey.

Film produced, directed and edited by Hyde Productions, the new video’s packed with references and touchstones nodding to both her Nigerian heritage, her religion and spirituality, and it’s all tied together in a package that’s Manchester through and through.

Currently working with Mr Scruff, Gabe Gurnsey and Heavenly Recordings on her new mixtape (due September 9), you can check out the new video at the top.
