EXCLUSIVE: North London Soul Singer Laville Gives Us An Unflinching Look At “The Truth” Of Addiction

This Friday (July 19), North London soul singer Laville will release his debut album, The Wanderer, a deeply personal release which explores his childhood, past relationships, addictions, joy and trauma. Now, with just a few days left until release day, he’s sharing “The Truth”, a moving tale of addiction and the devastation it can wreak on a person’s life.

Whether exploring disco-tinged electronics or jamming out with a full live band, Laville seems at home with both. It’s unclear what combination of those two settings we’ll see on the album, but for now, “The Truth” should leave us all wanting more of its classic soul vibes and potent harmonies.

Speaking with TRENCH via email, Laville told us: “Addiction is a mad thing to go through; your mind’s no longer your own. This song tells the story of five days with no sleep; what you do, how you feel, and how you look at those you love the most.”
