Hailing from Leicester, but now based in London, 23-year-old Jamal Bucanon recently released his debut single, “Waved”. A bittersweet ode to the weekend, “Waved” marries Bucanon’s downcast, deadpan vocal style with frenetic, jazzy drum patterns and club electronics, wrapping it all up in an intricate production style.

To mark the release he’s now back with the track’s stunning visuals. Directed by filmmaker Amanda Marie-Rose, the new video follows a restless Bucanon through the twilight streets of London, endlessly pursuing an escape from the 9-5 grind that consumes the rest of his week. A dash of surrealist imagery caps it all off, neatly capturing that intoxicating relief.
