EXCLUSIVE:
George The Poet Delivers Sobering Poem “If I Gotta Go” For New Skrapz Tape

This summer, UK rap veteran Skrapz will release his eagerly-awaited Be Right Back tape. We got the first taste of the project back in February when he dropped “Jumpout” with his CSB sparring partner Nines, and now he’s back with the second single, “If I Gotta Go”.

Changing gears from its energetic predecessor, “If I Gotta Go” puts George The Poet in the driving seat to deliver a sombre and powerful piece of poetry. Written by George with his HYHGP? podcast collaborator Benbrick, it’s written from the perspective of someone at the beginning of a prison sentence, weighing up the decisions that led them there and reaching out for comfort from the loved ones waiting for them outside.

It’s heavy-hitting stuff and a breath of fresh air from the usual bravado. It’s also wildly different from the tape’s first single, suggesting that we’re in for something truly special when Be Right Back drops June 25.
