EXCLUSIVE:
Brighton-Based Producer Drax Explores The Sweet Spot Between Grime And Wave On “Frostier”

As has always been the case, there’s an exciting crop of producers keeping grime’s inventive and experimental spirit alive in 2020. One of the most impressive prospects is Drax whose instrumentals are turning heads in and out of the scene. This Friday (August 28), he’ll release his new EP Second Thoughts via Brighton label Southpoint, a futuristic collection that takes the grime sound he’s championed so passionately and blends it with the mercurial sound of wave. The first single to emerge from the new project is “Frostier”, an instrumental that lives up to its title’s subzero promise with an intermingling of metallic synths, glitchy 8-bit bleeps and crunchy drum beats. Perfectly suited to the club as an instrumental, there’s also plenty of room for an MC to have their fun with it too.

Listen to “Frostier” below and pre-save the Second Thoughts EP here.
