At the tale end of 2021, we brought you the exclusive on a team-up between NKC and DJ Polo, “YeYeYeYe” / “Hammerhead”, a percussive confluence a few different influences, including UK funky, amapiano, gqom, tribal house and the long history of sound system culture that’s central to Bristol’s clubbing identity.

The pair had also been fixtures on SWU.FM, which has since mercifully been revived thanks to Rinse FM, but there was always the hope the two would hop back in the recording studio together for a sequel and today they deliver with a new four-track EP. Ahead of its release this Friday, May 12, we’ve got the title track for you below.

An absolute bruiser of a production, it combines pneumatic drum patterns and an uneasy swirl of samples and FX that delivers a constant threat to overwhelm. Running counter to that, we’re promised, is a Bok Bok remix that is said to temper that somewhat with a more melodic approach.
