EXCLUSIVE:
Danny Sanchez Tries To Navigate A Relationship In Turmoil On R&B Heartbreaker “Too Much”

Just before Valentine’s Day this year, rising R&B talent Danny Sanchez released his Love Is Long two-tracker. Judging by the title, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was an anti-Valentine’s drop, skewering the whole occasion, but a closer inspection reveals the opposite to be true as both tracks, in their own ways, explored the complexities and challenges that love brings, without necessarily rejecting them.

Today he returns to the project to give one of the tracks, “Too Much”, some intimate, late night visuals. Filmed across South and East London by director Moeysha Ashley, videographer Seb Luke-Virgo and assisted by Emily Chapps, the video plays out the track’s tale of two lovers with conflicting ideas of where the relationship is headed. An all-too-familiar tale executed with a vulnerability that’ll stop you in your tracks.

Speaking with TRENCH over email, Danny told us: “‘Too Much’ is my perspective of a relationship at a crossroads where one person wants more than the other. The car becomes a metaphor for the fact that the female lead is keen to keep the relationship moving forward, where as I enter and leave the car as I please.”

“The video came together through a small but amazing team. By shooting across various London locations, we were able to strengthen the narrative, showing that this complicated dynamic we had repeated itself night after night.”
