EXCLUSIVE: Ascending Rapper Elijah Urges You To “Slither” Away With Your Snaky Behaviour

Late last year, rapidly rising rapper Elijah dropped his latest EP, Hours, with Decarno (and stellar features from Brandz and House Of Pharaohs’ BlazeYL). The eight-track collection was criminally slept on, but now you have another reason to check it out if you haven’t already because he’s now releasing his new single “Slither”.

Still maintaining the drill influence and chrome-covered synths of his previous work (thanks to producer MG), Elijah maintains and strengthens the style he’s been making his own for the last year and a bit. Those slick electronics lay the foundations for Elijah to weave a tale of keeping snakes at arms length but the nuances of his flow and the playful punchlines he throws in keep this from sounding too familiar.

Speaking with TRENCH via email, Elijah told us: “A lot of people around me at the time weren’t being real, so the vibe of the song is the mood I was in at the time. A lot of snaky behaviour, hence why the song is called ‘Slither’.”
