Yizzy And Maniac Give It Up For Grime's Proud History On "Bap"

Yizzy And Maniac Give It Up For Grime's Proud History On "Bap"

March 22, 2018

South London's Yizzy has made for himself as an upstart, a young talent with fire in his belly and bags of lyrics. Even after several years in the game, Yizzy's on-mic energy feels as new and fresh as ever.

His latest banger, the Maniac-produced "Bap", features classic grime tropes like video game bleeps and eski synths, but together the pair launch that into the future with a high production value and opps-slewing bars full of fury from the Grime Kid.

"Bap" comes from Yizzy's upcoming EP S.O.S—Save Our Sound, hinting that this isn't the only track in the collection to draw on grime's proud history.

Updated on April 19: the video has now been released.
