Sneakbo Gives An Honest Look At The Life He Left Behind In "Back Then"

April 16, 2018

The 'look how far we've come' story isn't a new one in the world of rap, but at a time of rising disillusionment and a spike in violent crime in London, tracks like Sneakbo's "Back Then" couldn't come at a better time.

In the new video for the Brixton cut, the South London rapper looks back at the life he turned his back on to pursue music. He goes on to explain that he's had to end friendships and change his life a lot to escape his history, but even then he may not be completely out. I've come a long way / still pray I don't catch a old case, he says.

While he doesn't go too deep into the root causes or politics, it's a well-timed reminder of how hard it can be to escape that life, but also what the benefits are, namely that he can say what I want, and I do what I want, any time that I want.
