Skengdo X AM Link Up With The Original Driller Chief Keef For "Pitbulls"

October 01, 2018

UK drillers Skengdo X AM might not have had the easiest rise to the top — no thanks to the police and some less than enlightened press coverage — but they're here and every day seems to bring a new win for the pair.

The latest—and most impressive—feat is this new collaboration with drill originator Chief Keef. "Pitbulls" sees the UK and US drill factions combine for a moment that will surely go down in history. Together, the 410 rappers and the Chiraq don have created a transatlantic anthem that will hopefully be the first of many cross-pollenations. To match the brooding swagger of the track, they've just dropped these high-end visuals that follow the three around various spots around L.A as they take in the magnitude of their success.

AM explained: "Most of of us in the drill scene right now listened to Chief Keef in school, so for me and Skeng to be on the same track and stand next to him shows we're doing something right. A lot of artists are shying away from drill, but me and Skeng are owning this shit—even if no one else wants to. The police stuff and negative press around drill was just an obstacle so I hope we can set new levels and a new perception."

Skengdo added: "The experience was mad! We see ourselves in the top tier of the UK drill scene so to do a track with someone like Chief Keef, who created this drill genre, is a huge milestone for ourselves and the whole UK drill movement."
