Sasha Keable Returns With Her First Song In Four Years But It's Okay Because "That's The Shit"

August 02, 2018

Raised on soul and hip-hop, with influences spanning from Donny Hathaway and Aretha Franklin to Marvin Gaye and Lauryn Hill, 24-year-old singer Sasha Keable has many inspirations when it comes to her songwriting and arrangements, and after four years away she's back with new single "That's The Shit" where she puts them all to good effect.

Now she's linked up with her friends Junior (a pianist) and Jay (a songwriter), and together the three have been hard at work on this new batch of material, which will form an EP that's due later in the year. "That's The Shit" is the first out the gate and kicks things off loudly with a punchy and effortlessly cool shot at those who are a little too concerned with their image.

Speaking about the track, the South Londoner said: "'That's The Shit' was written over three years ago with Prgrshn. It's a bit of a piss take to all the men who go to clubs to buy bottles with money they don't really have and the women who hover around them just to get a few drinks or a shag!"

Listen to the track below.
