Night Slugs Boss L-Vis 1990 Shares UKG Remix Of "Flexin" f/ Taliwhoah
L-Vis 1990's 12 Thousand Nights mixtape from last year has proved to be the gift that keeps on giving. The all-killer tape saw L-Vis mix together a collage of club music, incorporating everything from ballroom to rap and R&B.
One of the innumerable highlights was his Taliwhoah collab, "Flexin", a dark, dubby R&B cut that set the mixtape's tone perfectly. Now he's reworked the track into something a little more uptemp, swapping out the glowering bass and dramatic synths for a chipper UKG production.
"When I was writing this, I was spending a lot of time driving around listening to old Garage Nation rave tape packs," L-Vis 1990 explained. "So I thought it would be fun to make something that could have been spun at one of those raves. I'm not normally one for a straight up throwback production but for 'Flexin' it had to be done."
Taliwhoah added: "'Flexin' is that tune you passively play to let someone know that you're onto their fake shit! I had a lot of fun writing this, especially cause at the point in my life when I wrote it, it was completely relevant."
The new remix will be released tomorrow, along with the original version of "Flexin". Look out for a club version of 12 Thousand Nights on the horizon.
