Nao Is In Way Over Her Head In "Make It Out Alive" With Californian Singer SiR

After a two-year hiatus following her debut album, Nao returned in June this year with the triumphant "Another Lifetime". Thankfully, we didn't have to wait another two years for the next drop because she's already back with new single "Make It Out Alive", a collaboration with Californian singer SiR.

The production's a little airier than some of her other releases (courtesy of London producer and musician GRADES), but don't let that distract you from the existential crisis at the heart of the lyrics. Can't get out of my head / it's the atmosphere, the pair sing as they struggle to find the next step in their lives.

"'Make It Out Alive' really sums up what my album is about," Nao explains. "I'd hit my late twenties and everything was in flux; relationships, work life, home situation, everything. I was lost and I genuinely had to ask 'how do you make it out of here?' The idea of making it a duet was to reflect how many people, all over the world, are going through the same experience. I'd been a huge fan of SiR's voice and songwriting for a while so I was over the moon when he agreed to join me on the track."
