Murkage Dave Takes A Cold Hard Look At His Life As A Lonely Recluse On Jazzy Soul Number "You Always Ring Me When I'm Busy"

May 02, 2018

Fresh off the back of his stint touring with old friend and collaborator Mike Skinner on the latter's recent Greatest Hits tour, Murkage Dave is back with another uniquely incisive piece of soul.

"You Always Ring Me When I'm Busy" sees Dave lament the contradictory feelings of wanting to be alone and yet craving human interaction. We've all been there at some point in our lives — you want to hide away in your house and take a break from social pressures, but once you do, you start to regret it.

The new track comes with a bubbling, dancefloor-focused UKG remix from Zed Bias as well as some surreal, Salvador Dali-inspired artwork from illustrator Johanna Burai. There's also talk of a Marco Grey-directed video in the pipeline.
