Mr. Mitch's "Creep (Take You Home)" Is A Response To Charmless Male Entitlement

March 16, 2018

We've all seen that creepy guy in the club, pestering girls charmlessly or, at worst, downright aggressively. Painful to watch, worse to go through, and it's the exact behaviour to which Mr. Mitch's latest track "Creep (Can I Take You Home)" is responding.

A gentle 4x4 kick drum forms the backbone to the cleverly-produced, R&B-influenced club track. Then the refrain comes in, an autotuned voice pleading endlessly with a mystery girl to let him take her home. The synth melody that twinkles through the track sounds very sweet and everything, but the looming bass line is an ominous presence that you can't quite shake.
