Miller Blue Finds Beauty In Pain On Smooth R&B Jam "Marigold"

February 02, 2018

Emerging R&B singer Miller Blue has set his sights on a big year. His latest drop, "Marigold", has all the markings of a hit. Hitting on the sweet spot between rap and R&B that has worked so well for so many in recent years, Miller Blue combines that typically U.S. sound with an undeniably British edge.

Over the smooth R&B jam, Miller tells us the story of rejection and how, in spite of everything, he can't help but hold a flame for the girl who turned him down. There's even a little rap breakdown in the middle that we wouldn't mind hearing more of.

"'Marigold', to me, really did mean a lot at the time," he explained. "I wrote and produced it in my bedroom during a period where I had been speaking to a girl and had become good friends and felt a spark. At the point where I felt like I wanted to move forward with our relationship she instead completely cut me off. Yet I could still see her beauty behind the cold response I'd received."
