Metalheadz Announces Goldie And Skepta Vinyl-Only Collab "Upstart"

November 07, 2017

Today we have the news that two leading figures in underground UK culture are finally joining each other on wax. News of the Goldie x Skepta collab first broke in June when the former dropped by Julie Adenuga's Beats 1 show to talk about his latest album The Journey Man.

Goldie told the host: "Even with your boy, that Skepta track is pretty deep, and I really love that track and I hope it sees the light of day, I think we're going to do a collaboration. It was a song we did after the album, it's coming as a limited 12, like a really limited, Boy Better Know Metalheadz, there's always been this thing about two crews and no man is an island, and I love that project, I think it's one of those standalone piece."

Now the track is finally confirmed for a December 22 release and is available for pre-order. The track was previewed last night (November 6) on Charlie Sloth's 1Xtra show, although there's so far no audio available in the wild. Still, these two names alone should be enough to persuade you to fork out the devilish sum of £6.66 for the vinyl.
