London Overground To Join The Night Tube Next Month

November 21, 2017

The last few years has seen a steady and consistent assault on London's nightlife; from the discriminatory Form 696 to the rapid rate of club closures, it's been tougher than ever to enjoy London by night.

That said, the scrapping of Form 696 and the introduction of the night tube (which currently includes the Central, Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria and Jubilee lines) were both welcome reversals of that trend. Now it has been announced that the night tube is being extended to include parts of the Overground system (Friday and Saturday between New Cross Gate and Dalston Junction—extending to Highbury & Islington early next year).

The new 24-hour Overground service will start December 15, just in time for all your end of year revelry. There's been no announcement regarding the rest of the Overground line, or whether other lines will join the service, but it's a much-needed step in the right direction, especially if you want to travel to or from South London.
