Lily Allen's "Trigger Bang" With Giggs Is An Early Christmas Present For Us All

December 12, 2017

Singer and Tory-merker Lily Allen just dropped an early Christmas present on us all. Somewhere in between raising awareness of the refugee crisis and encouraging people to exercise their right to vote, she's found a minute or two to hop in the booth.

Besides a cover of Rufus Wainwright's "Going To Town" earlier this year, we haven't heard a great deal of music from Lily Allen recently. That, however, is set to change because she's just dropped a brand new track, "Trigger Bang", with the landlord himself, Giggs.

You can still hear the Lily Allen of her debut album via the twinkly pianos in the background, but to that she's added more of an icy, electronic edge with Giggs' knockout bars providing the backbone of the track.

It's not clear whether or not there'll be a new album (her last was Sheezus in 2014), but it's very possible. In the meantime, enjoy the chilly pop vibes of "Trigger Bang" below.

Updated on January 24: The video has now been released.

Directed by frequent Giggs collaborator Myles Whittingham and styled by Ruka Johnson, the noughties-tinged video follows Lily and Giggs' younger selves as they come to terms with the trappings of fame.
