Krept Bids Final Farewell To His Cousin In Heartbreaking "Last Letter To Cadet"

February 28, 2019

After the tragic passing of Cadet at the start of the month, his cousin Krept and the rest of the his family have been busy making sure his legacy will live on, getting a community water well made in his name in Sudan, and putting on a concert in his name in which the proceeds will go to a charitable cause chosen by fans.

One thing that many fans were hopeful for, though, was one "Last Letter To Cadet", after their previous ones publicly gave them the space and clarity to rebuild their previously lost relationship, one that went on to become super strong over the years. After taking some time to find the words, Krept has done just that and the only word to describe it is heartbreaking. In the track, he talks about how close they were, how much he loved his cousin, and how grateful he was that they left things on good terms. Krept also promises to look after the family and says that everything he does in his career from here on out is for both of them, also mentioning the toll his death has had on him personally and how he can no longer listen to the original 'letter'.

The way he puts it is much deeper and clearer than we ever could express in one post, but the visuals also include scenes of the memorial gathering at Hyde Park, as well as the funeral, before ending with some soft vocals from Konan. Take it in below.
