Kojey Radical Warns Us Of The Devils In Prada Tuxedos On Soul-Baring "If Only"

Kojey Radical's uncompromising approach to his music and his aesthetic is one of the many reasons he's earned such a revered place in British music. His In God's Body album last year was hugely well-received and singles like "700 Pennies" are still written and talked about with admiration.

However, as he reveals on his dark new song "If Only", last year was marred by depression for Kojey. Impressively, the East London rapper has emerged from the other side with renewed vigour and a message of encouragement for anyone who may be going through the same turmoil.

"Despite how easy it is to keep up appearances," he explained, "I struggled with depression heavily last year. I came out the other side more hungry and more passionate because the ability to create and express myself literally saved my life. This year I want to make the most empowering music about my sadness. I want people to not be afraid to feel. I want people to use my music as a safe place and feel energised. Sometimes being able to speak up can make all the difference."
