Jevon Tries Not To Overthink Things On Bright And Airy EP Cut "Judas"

June 25, 2018

North West London rapper Jevon has just announced the coming release of new EP Judas (July 20), and to go with it, he's dropped the title track, serving as the second single from the project following last month's "Redemption".

Showing a different side of himself, the production takes an airy, more tropical route, accompanied by the kind of catchy hook that would be right at home on Drake's More Life project. As you'd expect from the title, he talks about people turning against him and fills his tale with the kind of clever lyrics and relatable bars he's become renowned for.

"This single is essentially a conversation with myself about betrayal and loyalty," he explained. "When I was young I got setup by someone I grew up with who I thought was my friend. As a result of moments like that, I now triple question things in my own mind and it can lead me to overanalyse too much. This could be another example of that."

Updated on August 2: the official video has now been released.
