Earlier this year, GAIKA was announced as Dazed's Political Editor-at-Large, but that hasn't distracted him from his music. Just days after the announcement, the producer launched The Spectacular Empire, an immersive multimedia project that described a fictional world history that follows directly from Trump's inauguration right through to the late 21st Century.

Horrifying, spell-binding and grimly realistic, the series was an impressive and accomplished venture from the multi-disciplined artist. Now he's back with the follow-up, The Spectacular Empire Vol. II, which aims to continue his exploration of his "speculative, ideologically utopian nation" by merging pop culture and political satire.

The latest element in the project is a two-track record dropping on December 1. From that, he's just shared b-side "Smoke Break", a combination of trappy R&B grooves with some warped sci-fi electronics for a track that takes the sounds of '80s dystopian sci-fi and translates it for the modern world.
