As the year 2017 draws to a close, it's about that time that we start looking ahead to next year to see if we can figure out who 2018 will belong to.

The BBC have today announced their longlist for their Sound Of 2018 and, as ever, it's a mix of clear favourites, wild cards and newcomers. Among them are one or two TRENCH favourites, including IAMDDB, Not3s and Yxng Bane. With previous winners including Ray BLK, Years & Years, Sam Smith, Adele and Stormzy, winning the title will mean big things for whoever snags the prize.

Radio 1's Annie Mac commented: "Some acts will be brand new to UK audiences and many have already started to make an impact. I can't wait to be a part of their journey and see what the year ahead has in store for them all."

Take a look at the full list of nominees below and keep an eye out for the shortlist when it's announced beginning January 8, with the winner announced January 12.
