Lloyd Brown and Tippa Irie have to be two of the UK's finest when it comes to reggae. Since the 1980s, both vocalists have been mainstays in the myriad, overlapping subsets of reggae. Between them they've released dozens of albums and helped to maintain reggae's position within British culture.

Here's Tippa Irie with a pre-locks Lloyd Brown back in 1997, performing "It's A Love Thing" for Black Slate's Anthony "Pure Silk" Brightly. Of everything the pair have released, this live performance of "It's A Love Thing" might be one of the best examples of their smooth and charismatic blend of lovers rock, reggae and R&B — not least because of the way the effortlessly charm every last member of the audience.
