HERITAGE: This Black Box Freestyle From Not3s Gave Us An Early Sign Of The Greatness To Come (2016)

Black Box's track record for spotting a new talent that's just about to blow is impressive. Their archives include early appearances from Dave and J Hus (both freestyles are still discussed to this day), as well as another chart invader, Not3s.

Here he is, just two years ago, right before his star shot into the stratosphere, shelling down a quick freestyle. Taking on instrumentals for J.Cole's "Wet Dreamz" and Tupac's "Hit Em Up", Not3s goes in on topics like getting kicked out of school, run ins with police and the growing levels of violence in London. Not only lyrically impressive, it's also an example of him bringing in some melody to his bars, something that's now a staple of the Not3s sound.
