HERITAGE: Seminal London Rap Duo Outlaw Posse Perform "II Dam Funky" Live On Channel 4's 'Dancedaze' (1990)

April 10, 2018

Although their use of American accents dates them quite a lot, there's no denying Outlaw Posse were something to be proud of. Alongside London Posse, Demon Boyz and a select few others, the London duo managed to make inroads into the U.S with tracks like "My Afro's On Fire" and "II Dam Funky".

Today's Heritage is taken from their 1990 performance of the latter track, live on Channel 4's late night music show Dancedaze in 1990. The show was often filmed in Brixton and is worth digging through for late '80s and early '90s underground hip-hop and dance music.

Fun fact: In the same year as this performance, Outlaw Posse opened for Public Enemy alongside London Posse, Demon Boyz, MC Mello and She Rockers.
