HERITAGE: Roots Manuva Brings A Full Live Band To 'Jools Holland' To Perform "Dreamy Days" (2001)

January 16, 2018

There has never been a character quite like Rodney Smith, aka Roots Manuva, and there probably never will be again. As soon as his 1999 debut, Brand New Second Hand, dropped it was clear the Big Dada rapper was a complete one-off.

That debut album was a fan favourite, but it was the 2001 follow-up that brought Manuva his biggest successes. The key single from that album was "Witness (1 Hope)", but that was an album packed with classics, including carefree album closer "Dreamy Days".

Here he is with DJ MK and a full band (including string section), performing "Dreamy Days" for Later... With Jools Holland back in 2001.
