HERITAGE: Jaykae Stands Tall For Birmingham With His Potent Balance Of Lyricism And Energy (2010)

Jaykae may be considered one of the new school, but he's been dropping freestyles online since at least 2008. Our favourite though comes from the East 2 West Midlandz DVD (uploaded in 2011, but we think was filmed in 2010), when a young Jaykae went B2B with another local rapper, Subzee, over Silencer's (also known as Teddy Music) "World War 4" production.

There's plenty more heat like this in Jaykae's history, but this one stands out in particular as a strong example of his balance of lyricism and energy. While you're at it, check out his Lord Of The Mics III Hype Session from the same era.
