HERITAGE: Ghetts' Auntie Lays Down Her Vocals For "State Of Mind" In Risky Roadz The Movement Doc (2006)

January 22, 2018

Back in 2006, grime star Ghetts dropped arguably his biggest mixtape to date with Ghetto Gospel. More than a decade before Stormzy was fusing gospel choirs with beats and bars, Ghetto was perfecting the idea. Today, we've dug out a clip from Risky Roadz's The Movement Documentary that gives us a throwback behind-the-scenes look at Ghetts and engineer Danny C working on the project, while Ghetts' auntie Angela Clarke lays down her vocals for the hook on "State Of Mind".

The 2006 documentary profiled the whole of The Movement, not just Ghetts, with the rest of the film featuring footage of the crew members Wretch 32, Mercston, Scorcher and Devlin spraying bars, recording, making videos and generally making moves. Look out for some cameos from Wiley, Big Narstie, No Lay, Asher D and a couple of other fresh-faced legends.
