HERITAGE: DJ Target's 'Aim High' Series Captures Essentials Performing Live At Rhythm Division (2005)

July 31, 2018

We've already mentioned DJ Target's diamond Aim High DVD. We could spend hours breaking down why it's so valuable, but instead we're going to take you back to one specific moment.

Here's grime crew Essentials being interviewed for Aim High before performing inside legendary record shop Rhythm Division. Their full list of members included Bossman (DJ not Birdie), Jendor, the late N.E, K Dot, 2 Face, Remerdee and some may argue Snipe Keedo, but not as a main member. Fun fact: Jendor and N.E went on to connect with some of Fatal Assassins to create OGz.

Skip to 5:37 for Essentials, who perform "Jenny" followed by a freestyle over Bossman's "Bongo Eyes", or watch the whole thing to see Aftershock and golden era Roll Deep bring chaos to the iconic East London record shop.
