No one skanks quite like a junglist.

Way back in 1997, jungle raves were the epicentre of UK underground and rave culture. At clubs and warehouses across the country, ravers would descend in designer shirts, flight jackets and Air Maxes. This video (below) couldn't sum it up any better.

Here's D&B and jungle legend Kenny Ken dropping junglist thunder while Bassman, Trigga and Juiceman handle the mic at Pure x Buddha's Birthday Bash in 1997. Kenny Ken, if you didn't know, played a central role in the growth and development of jungle. He owned and ran the labels Mix 'n' Blen and Planet Funk Recordings (the latter he co-owned with DJ Mace), hosted shows on pirate radio stations Centreforce FM and Dance FM, and alongside Ray Keith and Jumping Jack Frost, he was resident at the Crazy Club at Busby's (and later historic jungle nights Sunday Roast and A.W.O.L.).
