HERITAGE: Beverly Knight MBE Serves Up A "Flavour Of The Old School" From Iconic Debut 'The B-Funk' (1995)

Beverley Knight's list of accomplishments from her two decades in the music industry are nothing short of staggering. Having grown up in Wolverhampton, Knight worked tirelessly and in the early 2000s began to get the recognition she deserved.

Over the years she's won three MOBO Awards, a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Urban Music Awards in 2004, she's found fans among Prince and Quincy Jones, she was made an honorary Doctor of Music by the University of Wolverhampton, awarded an MBE in 2006, sang at the London 2012 Paralympic Opening Ceremony... the list goes on and on and on.

And here's where it all started: her 1995 debut album The B-Funk. Few albums summed up the '90s quite like that one, and fewer still were able to do so in a way that departed from New York and the States to give us a sound more relevant to the UK.

Today's Heritage is the video for "Flavour Of The Old School", one of the key singles from that debut album and one of 14 reasons on the album that she had such a long and fruitful career.
