Ezra Collective Return To Their Roots On Debut Album Cut "Quest For Coin"

February 13, 2019

Taken from their forthcoming debut album, You Can't Steal My Joy (which already includes features from Jorja Smith and Loyle Carner), Ezra Collective have unveiled their new single "Quest For Coin" in which they go back to their humble jazz beginnings.

The new offering cuts together their deep-rooted passion for all things jazz with a tightly-focused boom-bap beat, as well as the occasional hint of Afrobeats and even grime being thrown in for good measure.

Speaking about the track, they said: "Quest For Coin is about the pursuit of money but not losing your soulfulness in the process. You know when you can't afford the train, so you get the bus and meet a beautiful stranger who talks to you about your saxophone case? Yeah, that. Basically, city life. London life."
