Drift Away On The Jazz-Flecked Soul Of Yazmin Lacey's "90 Degrees"

March 13, 2018

Though the end of short, wintry nights may now be coming into view, it's still not exactly the most uplifting time of year. Here to combat the grey skies and cold winds is Nottingham singer-songwriter and Brownswood Future Bubblers graduate Yazmin Lacey with her life-affirming new single "90 Degrees".

The track, as she explains below, is an almost therapeutic song designed to wash away life's stresses. As calming as it is rousing, "90 Degrees" is clear proof (in addition to last year's Black Moon EP) that the years spent honing her craft as a writer and singer were very well spent.

She commented: "'90 Degrees' is about that time of the day / night when there's a shift in pace and energy. When you decide to lock off from the 'outside' world and create your own atmosphere, take some time to give thanks for what's breathing love into your life and smoke off the fuckeries. Everyone needs a little routine for self preservation."

Well said.
