Deep Cuts: Skepta

Deep Cuts: Skepta

September 18, 2017

"Who produces anthem after anthem?"

If you don't know the answer to that question, you're in the right place. Even if you did correctly answer "Skepta, the microphone champion" and you've been following Skepta since the early days of Meridian, you may still have missed one or two of the deep cuts. And that's exactly the point of this Deep Cuts series —digging through the years and unearthing forgotten classics and tracks that never quite got the recognition they deserved.

Across four studio albums, half a dozen mixtapes and countless singles and white labels, the Tottenham MC has carved out a formidable body of work, taking grime onto the international stage and brought the UK sound respect from all over the world. Whether it's in Meridian Crew, Boy Better Know, his brief stint in Roll Deep (arguably the crew's finest era), or as a solo artist, Skepta is the undisputed Microphone Champion.

Newcomers and OGs alike, scroll through to relive some of Skepta's lesser-known bangers.
