Dean Blunt Drops Mysterious 'Muggy Vol. 1' Compilation Via His World Music Label
Dean Blunt, one half of Hype Williams and the man behind the Babyfather project, is back with a brand new compilation released via his own World Music label (co-founded with the other half of Hype Williams, Inga Copeland).
As is often the case with Blunt, Muggy Vol. 1 is somewhat shrouded in mystery. The comp was uploaded to WeTransfer and YouTube, but the artists that appear remain nameless. There is a tracklist (below), but we honestly wouldn't be surprised if it turned out not to be a compilation at all, but rather just a straight Dean Blunt project. Who knows?
Sonically, this is classic Blunt territory, though not quite as abrasive as some of his past releases. A mixture of bluesy guitars, soothing electronics and huge heap of samples, Muggy Vol. 1 is seamless, mind-expanding and enigmatic.
