Big Tobz Addresses Gang Violence And Stays "Woke" In New Single And Short Film

June 19, 2018

Big Tobz has been relatively quiet since he signed to Polydor Records earlier this year, but now he's returned with thought-provoking track "Woke", which serves as an acronym for "We're Only Killing Each Other".

The track is part of a short film based around the events leading up to and following a teenage gang murder, similar to the ones we've heard about too many times this year, with Big Tobz narrating through his bars. Having been a surviving victim of gang violence himself, it's interesting to see the Walthamstow rapper use his platform to talk about the consequences and impact of these actions without being preachy or belittling.
